![]() I put an Easter Egg in the screenshot above. As you can see the interface is FAR cleaner on Windows. For example, here's a Mimecast 2FA verification code I got from OnePlus 7 Pro and one from Windows Phone. For example sometimes there can appear to be just too much information overload, even for simple tasks for text messages. Even the OEM ones like Samsung are a mess. ![]() The default SMS app on Android is just pure shit. Like this one trying to masquerade itself as the official Android Messages app, but is nothing moree than an Ad-ridden skinned app from Textra. Android executes these three, but with a clusterfuck of UI distractions. Messaging, Outlook, and Groove are far and above the best UI implementations. ![]() Anything else is a test of wills.įuck phones with curved screens or notches There are not many apps left but if you just need the absolute bare core (i.e email, messaging, and phone) then it's fine. Side note: I get a huge kick out of watching Apple announce their latest cutting edge features (they just decided to put a touchpad on their tablet keyboard!), and then showing my husband the same features on my old windows devices. I only use Windows-based computers and think Surface Pro is the best non-gaming notebook (or tablet) computer available today, but Microsoft gave up on their mobile phones years ago and I finally had to do the same. If Microsoft creates a new phone with zero Google-created software pre-installed I will be the first one in line to try it out, but until then I am all-in with Apple for my smartphone needs. Still hate using iTunes and moving files to and from my phone is a pain, but it is nice to have a fully functional phone with the ability to run the latest apps. I would have stayed with windows phone but it was becoming outdated (slower and glitchier than modern phones), I couldn’t use it for flying drones or ordering Uber food/scooters, and I wanted to try Pokémon Go. Once I realized the surface phone was just an android with a Microsoft logo, I gave up and got an iPhone. Was holding out hope for a revival (Surface Phone), I loathe Google, and didn’t want to deal with the clunky apple/windows interface (iTunes). I used it heavily daily and it got me through college. Love the interface, keyboard, Reddit app still solid, and the ability to screen cast and interface with my Surface/laptop is great. Hp elite x3 was my main phone till late 2019 (lumia 1520 was my secondary/media player).
